A person who requires Pulsatilla tends to have a mild, gentle and yielding disposition. They cry at everything and can be very sad and despondent. It is very hard to tell their symptoms with out weeping. They rae inclined to silent grief with submissiviness behavior.

o If the temperament is there, no matter what the pathological condition is, Pulsatilla will almost always help
o Farrington mentioned its use in 73 different affections
o All symptoms are better in cool open air and while walking slowly
o Remember Rhus-tox is better walking in warm air
Characteristic Symptoms
o A very chilly remedy yet is much worse with any warmth
o Changeable symptoms
o As does Ignatia and Nux-m
o Irritable then teary then mild and pleasant
o Pains travel from one joint to another
o Hemorrhages flow and stop and flow again
o No two stools alike – different colors
o No two chills alike
o No head nor tail to the case – mixed.
Affinities of Pulsatilla
o Mucus Membranes i.e. Respiratory, Digestion and Reproductive
o Dryness
o Thick bland yellowish green discharges
o Head colds
o Vaginal discharges
o Ulcers
o Ears and eyes
o In short, from every mucous outlet of the body
Head
o Throbbing pressive headache
o Much better by external pressure. i.e. tying up tightly
Sight and Eyes
o Cloudiness of vision, with a kind of flashing fire as if she had received a slap in the face
o Inflammation of eyes and margins of the lids, with tearing and nightly agglutination
o Profuse tearing in the wind or open air
o Conjunctivitis with profuse, yellow, thick, bland discharge.
o Subjects of styes, especially upper lids.
Hearing and Ears
o Hardness of hearing; sensation as if ears were stopped.
o Violent pain in ear as of something forcing outward.
o External ear and meatus red and swollen.
o Pain, with darting tearing pains, and pulsating; Pains are worse at night.
o Bland, nearly inoffensive, discharge of mucus and pus from the ears.
Nose
o Coryza – acute inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavities; cold in the head.
o Fluid or dry, with loss of taste and smell
o Sore nostrils
o Later a yellowish green discharge
o Green, fetid, nasal discharge
o Diminished or lost taste and smell; chronic, thick, yellow, bland discharge.
o Bad smell, as of old catarrh, in the nose.
o Inflammation of a mucous membrane, esp. of the respiratory tract, accompanied by excessive secretions.
Mouth and Throat
o Great dryness of the mouth in the morning without thirst.
o Bryonia have bad taste in morning with great thirst
o Bad taste in the mouth, especially early in the morning
o Nothing tastes good
o No taste at all.
o Veins of throat distended, inflamed, and bluish red.
o Stomach
o Thirstlessness with most all complaints.
o Stomach better from cold things and worse with warm things.
o Stomach disordered from cakes, pastry, rich, or fat food.
o Different than Nux-v where fats agree
Abdomen
o Pressure in abdomen and small of back, as if from a stone
o Disposition of lower limbs to go to sleep when sitting
o Sometimes ineffectual desire for stool
Anus and Stool
o Dysenteric stools (inflammation and ulceration of lower part of bowels with diarrhea)
o clear yellow red, or green slime
o With or without severe aching pains and tenesmus
o If pain it extends up from the anus along the sacrum.
o Seen in summer diarrhea
o Stools very changeable, no two stools alike.
Urinary Organs
o Retention of urine with great desire,
o Greatly aggravated on lying, especially on the back
o Wetting the bed, particularly little girls
o Wetting on coughing or sneezing
Male Sex Organs
o Thick, bland, yellow or green yellow discharge from the urethra
o gonorrhea
o Orchitis (swelling of testes) from cold or mumps or other infection
Female Sex Organs
o Menstrual colic, with great restlessness, tossing in every possible direction
o Mag-phos
o Menses too late and scanty
o Menses suppressed
o particularly by getting the feet wet
o Menses stops and then starts again
o Delayed menses in young girls
o Kali-c and Tuberculinum
Respiratory Organs
o Cough with bad taste in mouth
o Cough worse in morning
o Great dryness with cough
o THIRSTLESS
Expectoration
o Thick, green and bland
o Tastes bitter
o Stannum is sweet
o Sepia is salty
Neck and Back
o Pain in small of back, as after long stooping
o Pain in small of back from a sprain
o Pain in small of back on motion after sitting
Extremities
o Drawing, tearing pains in limbs
o Pains shift rapidly from place to place
o Worse at night
o Worse from warmth
o Better from uncovering.
Chill Fever and Sweat
o Chilly with the pains.
o Chill at 4 P.M.
o No two paroxysms alike, ever changing symptoms.
o Sweat one sided
Generalities
o Chilliness with the pains
o Wandering pains shift rapidly from one part to another, also with redness and swelling of the joints.
o Symptoms ever changing, no two chills, no two stools, no two attacks alike, well one hour, miserable the next.
Pain
¡ Pain is accompanied with constant chilliness
¡ The more severe the pain the harder the chill
¡ If Chill is accompanied with sweating à Chamomile
¡ If Chill is accompanied with fainting à Hepar sulph.
¡ If Chill is accompanied with frequent urination à Thuja
¡ If Chill is accompanied with delirum à Veratrum Album
Causes and Modalities
o Aggravated in a closed warm room
o No remedy is aggravated in the heat more
o Aggravated with warm applications
o Aggravated by abuse of Iron
o Relieved in open air
o Chilliness with pains that is better with cool open air
o Better walking around slowly
o Better cold food or drink
Constitution and Temperament
o Mild, gentle, yielding disposition
o Sad and Despondent
o Weeps Easily
o Sandy hair, blue eyes, pale face
o Muscles soft and flabby
